Super Easy Instant Pot Honey Sesame Chicken Wings

Serve these Honey Sesame Chicken Wings as an appetizer, or as the main course for a family dinner paired with your favorite sides.

These delicious Honey Sesame Chicken Wings are not only full of flavor, they are finger-licking good!

We love chicken wings around here, and we don’t consider them just an appetizer, but a main meal. I love making these Honey Sesame Chicken Wings because I love simple recipes, and this recipe is about as easy as they get!

If you’re looking for a quick meal idea on a busy weeknight, nothing compares to the convenience of an Instant Pot. Not only are your meals healthier, but they are done in very little time.

Once you’ve finished cooking your wings in the Instant Pot, simply placing them under the broiler is all you need to get that nice crispy finish.

Serve wings with steamed vegetables and rice for a weeknight meal, or as my son prefers, with a side of french fries.

Did I mention that this is the perfect recipe for a weekend or game day appetizer?

HOW TO PREPARE HONEY SESAME CHICKEN WINGS

Ingredients

3 Lbs Chicken Wings
1 Tbsp Onion Powder
1 Tsp Salt
1 Tsp Black Pepper
1 Cup water
Sesame Seeds, for garnish

Marinade Ingredients

½ Cup Soy Sauce
2 Tbsp Sesame Oil
3 Tbsp Honey,
1 Tsp Unsalted Butter
2 Tsp Fresh Ginger, minced
2 Cloves Fresh Garlic, minced
1/4 Tsp Cayenne Pepper

Instructions

1.Season wings with onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Place the metal trivet inside Instant Pot and add one cup of water. Arrange seasoned wings on top of the trivet before securing the cover in place. Switch the vent to “Sealing” and set the “Manual” setting to 10 minutes.

2.To prepare the marinade, heat the soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, butter, ginger, garlic, and cayenne pepper in a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring frequently, until the butter is melted and the mixture is thoroughly combined. Remove from heat and set aside.

3.When cooking time on Instant Pot is complete, allow pressure to naturally release for 10 minutes, then do a quick release for any remaining steam. Remove the lid and transfer the wings to a large bowl. Set aside and let cool slightly.

4. Position your oven rack in the top position and preheat the broiler to high. Line a large, rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire cooling rack on top. Set aside.

5. Pour 1/3 of the marinade on top of the wings and toss to coat. Transfer the wings to the wire rack on the prepared baking sheet and place under the broiler for 4 – 5 minutes or until the wings start to get crispy and develop a nice brown color. Turn the wings and repeat on the other side.

(Be sure to keep a close eye on the chicken wings as they broil to prevent them from burning!)

6. Carefully remove the wings from the oven and toss them with the remainder of the marinade. Allow to cool slightly, then garnish with sesame seeds. Serve immediately.

Enjoy!

*Tip: If you prefer crispier wings, allow them to broil for 2-3 minutes longer.
