Valentine’s Day Chocolate Covered Pretzels

Valentine’s Day Chocolate Covered Pretzels make the perfect sweet and salty bite sized treat.

Who doesn’t love chocolatey treats on Valentine’s Day? These delicious valentine pretzel bites are wrapped in chocolate and topped with fun sprinkles, making them the perfect sweet and salty Valentine’s Day treat to be shared with loved ones, classmates or co-workers.

Chocolate covered pretzels are super easy to make and can be decorated for any holiday or season. Actually you can make them anytime you’re craving a sweet and salty snack.

These are one of my son’s favorite sweet treats so I always make them on Valentine’s Day. I’m sure they’ll be a hit with your family as well.

And be sure to let the kids in on the fun. Because pretzels are his favorite, my kiddo enjoys helping make these tasty treats.

Ingredients:

12 oz bag of Pretzels
3 oz Red Candy Melts
3 oz Pink Candy Melts
3 oz White Candy Melts
Sprinkles of your choice

Instructions:

1.Melt your candy in the microwave for 20 seconds then remove and stir. (Be sure to use a different bowl for each color of candy). Return candy to the microwave and heat in 15 – 20 secon intervals, stirring in between until candy is completely melted.

2.Dip the top portion or side of each pretzel into the melted candy using a fork. Gently shake off excess chocolate.

3.Place the dipped pretzels on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil.

4.After all of the pretzels have been dipped, add your sprinkles before the melted candy hardens.

5.When you’ve finished decorating, place all of the dipped pretzels in the refrigerator for 30 minutes, or until the candy has hardened.

Serve and enjoy!

*Store any leftover pretzels in an airtight container for up to seven days.

Recipe Variations:

Try different types of chocolate: dark chocolate , milk chocolate, or white chocolate. Dark chocolate covered pretzels are amazeballs!

Add different sprinkles to fall in line with the holiday or season – ie spring, fall, Halloween or Christmas

Change out your toppings to suit your taste. You can use nuts, M & M’s candies, crushed cookies, or coconut as garnishes.
